R2E2 MANGOES

We grow the iconic R2E2 mango variety, a cross between a Kensington Pride and a Kent. It’s the first Australian-bred mango that was developed in Bowen.

R2E2 mangoes are large and rosy with pink cheeks. Or as we like to say, they have The Perfect Blush.

R2E2 mangoes have a firmer flesh with no stringy bits, and a zesty, fresh sweetness. They are juicy, but mess-free to eat.

The R2E2 is best enjoyed when it is just ripe, never over ripe. Look for a mango that is firm, but gives a little when squeezed, and has that unmistakable mango aroma. When you think it’s ready, chill it in the fridge before you eat it to make sure you get that refreshing feeling.

The best mangoes are Queensland Sunshine Mangoes

The R2E2 was chosen for its amazing colour, extended shelf life and larger size. These characteristics make the R2E2 appealing for Australian consumers and an ideal choice for export.

Our Sunshine Mangoes are harvested in Spring each year. They can be found in supermarkets and green grocers on the East Coast, as well as beyond our shores front and centre on the international stage.
